Could it be…yes, it could- the Spin Doctors are back (not sure they ever left but they’ve definitely been flying under my radar). Great title for their new album as I stare out the window at the river out back- how sweet life would be if those thar waters flowed with whiskey! Good time music. Go ahead, hit play, it won’t bite (if you like it to bite, I have that in my bag ‘o tricks too, just ask!).
My pillow awaits…I have a very important date awaiting me on the other side of these tired eyelids with the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. She can be the queen of my kingdoms any day and I welcome her Dragon children in my home as I do my own (they’ll fit right in). I can’t fight it, Game of Thrones has me hooked like a farking marlin on the line in the deep tourqoise waters…and from there comes Groundation and ‘The Dragon’
I’ve been neglectful of my Sunday posting duties…time to jazz it up at a Sunday morning pace with a little Coltrane.

This album brings me back to the days of leaving the nest…the early excitement met by the stark confusion of freedom..trying to connect the idealism of my youth with the real responsibility of making it in the world. It may have been awhile ago but it still feels fresh to me.

Jackson Browne sings it like it is for those of us out there on the road…here’s another song I wish I could have penned, but much respect for nailing the sentiment. Pardon the cheese, but ain’t nothing wrong with giving thanks to the people who are there going about their business of making it all work for us.

While anxiously awaiting the June 4th release of the latest Queen’s Of The Stone Age album, I’m digging into the treasure chest and dusting off some of their gems. Josh Homme is a master.
